WAEC REACTS TO INCREMENT OF REGISTRATION FEE

    The West African Examinations Council
(WAEC), has reacted to the reports on social
media that it has increased its registration
free from N13, 950 to N30, 000.
    The exam body said it did not at any point hike its fee as widely being speculated.
WAEC was reacting to an inquiry by one Lagos
driver @lagosuber on Twitter who wrote: “So
@waecnigeria form cost 30k now.
“This girl here wants to write the exams but
no money. I have 5k with me I need like 5
other people who can support.
“Please, her father is a carpenter, mum –
cleaner. With 4children, they just have no
money. It’ll close this Jan. Thanks.”
Responding, the exam body said the fee for
2108- First Series is 13,950.
“No, registration fee for the WASSCE for
private candidates, 2108-First Series is
13,950 Naira excluding bank commission of
500 Naira,” it tweeted.
