21650 candidates were said to have sat for the two-day post UTME screening exercise Conducted by the management of the University of Ibadan .
This year Statistics was nevertheless quite a little bit lesser than the previous experiences.
With the University of Ibadan’s compliance with the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s regulation, UI was said to have made N43.3 million from the post UTME exercise this year.
Earlier, let us not forget that JAMB had instructed Universities and Polytechnics across the country not to charge exorbitant fee for post UTME exercise, which was fixed for N2,000
University of Ibadan howver respected this directive and only demanded N2000 from aspirants who desired to write the screening exercise.
According to the University website information (www.ui.edu.ng ) only N2,000 was indeed demanded from candidates as it was payed through the admission portal of the school.
Nevertheless, there were extra charges but these didn’t go to the university’s account.
Even as UI respected this Jamb directive,other schools were seen charging their candidates as much as N7,000 to N10,000
Howrver, on Friday, October 6, JAMB has intended to penalize universities and polytechnics who charged more than the fixed amount for post utme as the Minister of Education Mr Adamu Adamu via tweeter reassure candidates that they would all get their balance from institutions that charged more than the aupoosed amount.
Only 6 schools were said to have complied with this directive which includes University of Ibadan, UNILAG, UNILORIN, Nassarawa State University and Uyo State University
