UNIJOS ACEPRD Herbal Workshop date announced

The University of Jos African Centre of Excellence in
Phytomedicine Research and Development is
organizing a Short Certificate Course for Herbal/
Alternative Medicine practitioners, Doctors,
Pharmacists and other health workers from 23 –
28 October, 2017. Training will include:

1)Traditional medicine knowledge and history
2)Cultivation, Harvesting concepts and identification
3)Methods of quality control, extraction,
4)standardization ,potency and variability of herbs
5)Efficacy and safety of the use of herbal medicine
products
6)Understanding and application of herbal medicine
7)Primary production methods of preparation, for
example, infusions, teas, decoctions tinctures.
Dosage standardization.
8)Principles of toxicology and effect of herb-herb
and herb to drug interactions
9)How to set up business including ethical and legal
issues , keeping records, marketing and business
planning
10)Apprenticeship and communication skills

Workshop fee;

N20, 000 which will include tea break,

lunch and course materials

Minimum of first school

leaving certificate or higher school certificate.

NDA 70th Regular Course Admission Announced

This is to inform the general public that online application for admission into the 70th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna has commenced. Father rapes and Impregnate 10-Year-Old Daughter

One Kenneth Abaya has been arraigned before an Ikeja magistrate’s court for defilement and impregnating his daughter. Abaya who allegedly raped and impregnated his 10-year-old said he did not know why he enjoyed the act. The suspect who was arrested by policemen at the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Command Headquarters, Ikeja, confessed to the police that he loved his daughter so much and was never irritated when he was having sex with her. According to the Police sources, upon interrogation,the victim who said her father has been raping her was taken to the hospital for general tests,where they discovered she was pregnant. “The bubble burst when the victim told the police that her father, who she accused having sexual intercourse with her severally, was the owner of the pregnancy.” The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
